Born in Tielt, Belgium, in 1966.
I now live and work in Ghent.
My journey in the arts began with color pencils and grew into a lifelong exploration of visual expression. I earned a Master’s degree in Art History from Ghent University, followed several years later by two years of Textile Design studies at KASK in Ghent.
My work is a personal and passionate quest to express and capture the fragility and the delicate essence of life.
I am drawn to the interplay between light and shadow, the infinite and the transitory, the dynamic and the static. Through my practice, I seek to reveil the poetic and ephemeral dimensions of existence.
Paintings – Photography – Textile
My abstract work is inspired by nature and imagination. My realistic paintings often begin with a photograph, which becomes a starting point for exploring themes of light, colour and emotion. Photography allows me to study these themes in depth, while the tactility and the textures of textile are increasingly woven into my artistic language
Each artwork reflects my inner landscape, formed by the shifting beauty and the complexity of the natural world.
AppROACH
I work intuitively, translating impressions and emotions into visual form. My proces begins with a sense of calm and focus, witch I see as essential – a counterbalance to the complexity of contemporary life.
A central aim of my work is to create a quiet moment for the viewer, a space that invites personal interpretation and reflection.
